The main entrance to St. Timothy's fellowship hall and sanctuary faces Van Buren Street. |
St. Timothy's bell was hung in the steeple of the first church building (now the Masonic Lodge at Elden and Grace Streets) in 1882. It was moved to its current home in front of the Van Buren Street church in 1969, and later electrified. It still rings at the start of each service. |
The entrance facing Spring Street is most convenient for accessing the Sunday School and preschool classes, and has automatic doors and easy access to the elevator to the sanctuary. |
In 1972 St. Timothy's acquired its antique two manual Tracker organ, located at the back of the Sanctuary. |
Built as a service project by area Boy Scout troops, the outdoor chapel is accessible via mulched paths from the main parking lot. Benches along the path provide serene resting and contemplation spots, and the outdoor sanctuary clearing is framed by trees and shrubs. |
